Illinois Leaders Selected For 2026 Edgar Fellows Program 

CHAMPAIGN – 41 elected or appointed officials from state, county or municipal, nonprofit and labor leaders candidates for public office have been selected for the 2026 class of the Edgar Fellows Program. The initiative was founded by former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar to inspire respectful collaboration in addressing the state’s major challenges.  The group, led by former Illinois congressman and U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, will gather for a training program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus from August 2 through 6.
