DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council has approved an amendment to the city’s cannabis possession ordinance to align local rules with updated state limits. The change to Chapter 52 of the Municipal Code reflects a state Public Act, which increased allowable possession amounts in Illinois to 60 grams of cannabis flower, 1,000 milligrams of THC in infused products and 10 grams of cannabis concentrate. City officials said the update is required because state law supersedes local regulations regarding possession limits.
