Illinois Lawmakers Considering No-Knock Warrant Ban Named After Anjanette Young

CHICAGO –  Illinois lawmakers are considering a ban on no-knock warrants named after Anjanette Young.  Young is a social worker who was the victim of the botched raid in February 2019 when officers forced her to stand handcuffed and naked as they searched her Chicago home.  She urged state lawmakers to pass the Anjanette Young Act, which would ban no-knock warrants in all but certain situations where the safety of officers or others is threatened.  An Anjanette Young Ordinance has failed to gain traction in Chicago.
