Illinois Gas Prices Rise Nearly 90 Cents From Last Year

SPRINGFIELD — Gas prices in Illinois have increased over the past month and are nearly 90 cents higher than they were a year ago, according to the American Automobile Association. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Illinois was $4.30 Thursday, up from $4.04 on July 3 and $3.44 on Aug. 3, 2025. The national average was $4.06 on Monday. In the region, the average price was $4.05 in Ogle County, $4.26 in DeKalb County and $4.25 in Lee County.
