Illinois Awards Nearly $1 Million in Veterans Cash Grants

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded nearly $1 million in Veterans’ Cash Grants to organizations providing services to veterans and their families across the state for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026. Funded through proceeds from the Illinois Lottery’s $5 7x Bingo Multiplier ticket, the grants support programs addressing homelessness, post-traumatic stress, behavioral health, workforce development, legal assistance, and employment training. Recipients include Erase PTSD Now in Schaumburg, A Safe Haven Foundation in Chicago, Transitional Living Services in McHenry, Code Platoon in Chicago, Guardian Corps in Chicago, Legal Aid Chicago, Entrepreneurs Academy in Chicago, Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, The Chicago Lighthouse, and BraveHearts in Harvard. Grants ranged from $68,000 to $100,000 and will help provide treatments, housing assistance, job training, legal services, entrepreneurial education, and equine-assisted therapy.
