CHICAGO — Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is warning residents to be cautious when shopping online and in stores this holiday season. Shoppers are advised to check recalls and safety warnings from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, avoid unfamiliar or fraudulent websites, use credit cards or secure payment apps, and protect personal information. Raoul also recommends reviewing payment plans, verifying delivery dates, using strong passwords and multifactor authentication, and reporting counterfeit or unsafe goods. Consumers who suspect fraud can file complaints through the Attorney General’s office.
