Illinois Attorney General Joins Nationwide Lawsuit Against Gender-Affirming Care Limitations

SPRINGFIELD –  Illinois is joining a nationwide lawsuit attempting to block gender-affirming care limitations.  Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul recently announced that Illinois joined 17 other states in the lawsuit filed by Massachusetts.  It relates to an executive order directing officials to take action against federally funded institutions providing chemical and surgical mutilation of anyone under the age of 19.  The lawsuit argues that the Trump administration is violating states’ Tenth Amendment right to regulate medical care.
