Illinois 26 Construction in Forreston Begins Aug. 11

FORRESTON — Road work on Illinois 26 in Ogle County is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 11, weather permitting. The $4.3 million project will cover the stretch from Forreston’s southern city limits to the Illinois 72 west junction and includes pavement repairs and upgrades to pedestrian access. Daily lane closures will be in place with flaggers directing traffic. Resurfacing will follow in 2026, with full completion expected by early June of that year. The work is part of the ongoing Rebuild Illinois program, which has funded thousands of miles of highway and bridge improvements statewide.
