IDNR to Host Chronic Wasting Disease Meetings in Lee, Ogle Counties Next Week

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will hold public meetings in Lee and Ogle counties next week to provide updates on chronic wasting disease, its impact on deer populations, and current management strategies. The Lee County meeting is scheduled for Sept. 29 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Winifred Knox Memorial Library, 112 S. Elm St., Franklin Grove. The Ogle County meeting will be Sept. 30 at Oregon VFW Post 8739, 1310 W. Washington St., Oregon. The fatal neurological disease affecting white-tailed deer has been detected in 25 Illinois counties, including Lee, Ogle, and DeKalb.
