SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will accept applications starting July 1 for the State Pheasant Fund Special Funds and Illinois Habitat Fund Special Funds grant programs through Aug. 1. The programs support habitat and wildlife projects that improve natural areas for pheasants and other wildlife through work led by nonprofit groups and government agencies. Funding comes from the sale of habitat stamps to hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Applicants must be registered and in good standing in the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act portal and must apply online. The grants support conservation work across Illinois that improves habitat and wildlife conditions.
