ICC Approves Rail Safety Improvements in Ogle County

DAVIS JUNCTION — The Illinois Commerce Commission has approved funding for new automatic warning devices and highway approach work at the Blackwood Road rail crossing near Davis Junction in Ogle County. The nearly $600,000 signal project will be paid mostly through the state’s Grade Crossing Protection Fund, with the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad covering a small share and future maintenance. An additional $96,220 will fund highway approach improvements, with the Scott Township Road District responsible for upkeep.
