HILLCREST — The Hillcrest Village Board reviewed its finances last week during the monthly trustee meeting, reporting $4.23 million in the general fund, $262,024.51 in the motor fuel fund, and a utility fund balance of negative $107,032.13 as of June 30. Trustees approved payment of village bills and heard updates on planned street chip sealing, ordinance revisions, and cybersecurity upgrades. Officials also reported receiving grants for maintenance safety equipment and the village cleanup day, which served 52 residents and collected 20 tires, three dumpsters of trash, and scrap metal for recycling.
