ROCHELLE — A series of downpours moved across northern Illinois on Monday, causing storm damage and flash flooding. Parts of southern Lee County reportedly received more than 7 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service. Roads were flooded in Paw Paw, forcing many residents to seek alternate routes. Lightning struck equipment in Rochelle Monday afternoon, causing a power outage. Much of the region remains under a Flash Flood Advisory, as saturated soils could lead to additional flooding if more storms develop.
