Hate Crimes Down 25% in Chicago, But Anti-Jewish Incidents Rise Sharply

Mayor Brandon Johnson’s office released a statement saying the trend mirrors the broader drop in serious crime across the city. Despite the reported progress, CCHR says hate crimes against Jewish Chicagoans increased 58% in 2024.
