KANKAKEE — Governor JB Pritzker visited the communities of Kankakee and Aroma Park Thursday to assess damage after a series of severe storms moved through Illinois Tuesday, bringing five confirmed tornadoes and record setting hail. Authorities say one person may have died as a result of the storms after deputies with the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office were notified about a possible deceased person believed to be a victim of tornado damage. The person was found Wednesday inside a damaged home in Aroma Park and the death remains under investigation. Pritzker directed state agencies to provide full support and resources to assist with response and recovery efforts in the area.
