(Louisville, KY) — Golden Tempo is the winner of the 152nd Kentucky Derby. Renegade and Ocelli finished in second and third place at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
This marked jockey Jose Ortiz’s first Kentucky Derby win. Golden Tempo’s trainer, Cherie DeVaux, is the first female trainer to win the Derby.
The Preakness Stakes, the next race in the Triple Crown, will take place May 16th.
