WASHINGTON — The Federal Trade Commission has begun sending 640,038 payments totaling more than $23.8 million to Grubhub drivers and diners affected by the food delivery company’s business practices. The payments follow a settlement reached in December 2024 after a multi-year investigation by the FTC and Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul. Investigators alleged Grubhub misled customers about delivery costs and the benefits of its Grubhub Plus subscription, blocked some users from their accounts and funds, misled drivers about potential earnings and listed restaurants on its app without their knowledge or consent.
