DIXON — State Representative Brad Fritts is hosting a sharps and prescription drug drop off event today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Dixon Township Building at 315 Highland Avenue. The event is held with the Lee County Health Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Dixon Police Department, and Dixon Township. Residents can dispose of items such as tablets, capsules, patches, residential sharps, vitamins, pet medications, and prescription ointments. Officials said liquids and illegal drugs will not be accepted. Fritts said the event provides a simple way to safely dispose of items and help protect the community.
