SYCAMORE — Former DeKalb County Board member Savannah Ilenikhena and her husband, former sheriff’s deputy Bartholomew Ilenikhena, have been indicted on charges of loan fraud, theft and forgery in connection with fraudulent applications to the federal COVID-19 Paycheck Protection Program. Prosecutors allege the couple submitted false income information and loan forgiveness forms between April and October 2021. Each faces one count of loan fraud and one count of theft of between $10,000 and $100,000, Class 2 felonies carrying possible sentences of up to seven years in prison, along with three counts of forgery. They were arrested last week, released on pretrial conditions and are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 16.
