WASHINGTON DC – Oral arguments are set for a case in the U.S. Department of Justice has against the state of Illinois over how it implements the federal e-verify system for employment eligibility. A federal judge ordered an in-person hearing for Aug. 12 on a motion by the state to dismiss the case. A separate case the DOJ has against Illinois, Cook County and the city of Chicago over migrant sanctuary policies is pending.
