SPRINGFIELD – Governor JB Pritzker has proclaimed this week as Farm Safety and Health Week in Illinois, and in an effort to help those in the industry to secure the future of farming, educational seminars will be presented today by the Illinois Department of Agriculture and the Illinois Department of Labor. The two talks will focus on Farm Succession Planning, helping ensure that assets can be transferred to relatives with the least amount of disruption to the farming operation. The other talk will educate farmers and managers on the benefits of training future generations with a registered apprenticeship.This year marks the 80th year for the annual observance nationwide.
