ROCHELLE — It will be another hot, sticky day across the upper Midwest. The Great Lakes region will see areas with a heat index of the mid-90s today, with the high temperatures shifting more to the East on Friday.
Matt Friedlein with the National Weather Service said any relief will be brief.
“It will gradually ease on Friday and Saturday, likely due to a cold front easing its way south. The problem is it won’t get very far south and will probably creep back north as a warm front. In other words, bring that warm, humid air back later in the weekend into Monday.”
The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory yesterday that is still in effect through 10 p.m. tonight, warning of increased risk for heat-related illnesses and urging residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and check on vulnerable individuals.
