SYCAMORE — A 24-year-old Earlville man was charged after a domestic disturbance May 8 in the 200 block of North Cross Street, according to the Sycamore Police Department. Police said officers responded around 9:50 p.m. after a woman reported her ex boyfriend, Randy Schaefer allegedly entered her residence without permission while she was away and remained inside with their infant daughter. Police said Schaefer later exited the home carrying the child in a baby carrier and resisted officers after being ordered to place the child down. Officers took Schaefer into custody and safely secured the infant. No injuries were reported. Schaefer was charged with criminal trespass to residence, criminal damage to property, endangering the life and health of a child and resisting a peace officer. He was taken to the DeKalb County Jail pending court proceedings.
