Dylan Manning of Rochelle is scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
The junior runningback and safety is recovering from a head injury he suffered last October in the football game with Morris. He had brain surgery following the game.
Dylan is scheduled for a cranioplasty on his head. His dad, Ben, said it will be a 3-D printed plastic for his scalp.
He is expected to be in the hospital 2 to 3 days after the procedure unless their is an infection..
Dylan has been home since late November recovering from the first surgery. Ben said that he has gained around 15 pounds and weighs in at 170.
Manning weighed 185 pounds when he was hurt.
Dylan plans to return to the classroom at RTHS some time during the second semester.
