Family and friends saw some improvements Sunday from Dylan Manning of Rochelle.
The junior runningback and safety suffered a serious head injury Friday night in the game at Morris High School.
He had surgery to remove a clot and some bleeding from the brain.
Dylan’s dad, Ben Manning, said that he is off the sedatives and the breathing tube has been removed.
He ‘s is very groggy and sleeps quite a bit of the time. Dylan has responded to voices and has opened an eye and spoke a few words.
He continues to rest well and has been able to respond to visitors and even gave out some fist bumps.
A community prayer vigil was held Saturday night at the football stadium for Dylan.
