SYCAMORE — A 20-year-old Elgin woman was taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital with suspected minor injuries after dropping a vape device while driving Friday night on Illinois Route 64 near Motel Road, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the woman lost control of her SUV while trying to pick up the device, causing the vehicle to strike a guardrail. The SUV was towed from the scene due to heavy damage, and no citations were issued.
