ROCHELLE – Construction work continues in downtown Rochelle as crews make progress on storm sewer installation along 4th Avenue, which remains fully closed due to equipment size and safety concerns and is expected to stay closed for another week. The intersection of Lincoln Highway and 4th Avenue is scheduled to close Thursday morning for about two days to allow crews to complete multiple utility crossings, with advance warning signs planned at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Highway and reopening expected by the end of the day Friday, April 17, barring delays. Temporary trash containers have been placed for Acres Bistro and Scalehouse, The Hope Chest, Ordinary Golfer, and nearby upstairs apartments that cannot access alley dumpsters, while other businesses are asked to continue using regular waste service.
