Dixon Woman Cited After Deputy Reports 121 MPH Speed

GRAND DETOUR – An Ogle County deputy cited a Dixon woman after allegedly driving 121 mph in a 55 mph zone Saturday afternoon. Authorities said Laura Wheeler, 40, was stopped around 5:57 p.m. while a deputy was conducting stationary patrol in the 7000 block of South Illinois Route 2. Wheeler was also cited for allegedly crossing a double yellow no passing zone. She was released at the scene on a notice to appear under the Illinois Safety Act and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
