DIXON — The City of Dixon is asking residents to submit name ideas for a new pedestrian bridge under construction as part of Project ROCK. The project includes a roughly $14 million effort to build a bike and pedestrian bridge across the Rock River, linking the south side to Page Park and the riverfront trail system. City officials said the bridge is being built on the historic piers of the former Illinois Central Railroad and is expected to be completed in 2026. Residents can submit proposed names through May 7, with entries reviewed by officials before finalists move to a public vote. Mayor Glen Hughes said the bridge reflects years of planning and will serve as a long term connection point for the community.
