DEKALB — DeKalb Township will host its second annual Wise and Well Senior Summit on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau. The free event will feature 17 educational sessions, community resource providers, a continental breakfast, door prizes, I PASS and ICASH assistance, and other services for older adults and their families. Those who register by July 29 will receive a free grab and go lunch. Free parking and shuttle service will be available from the Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Family YMCA and Bethany Road Bible Church because parking at the venue is limited. The Thrive Encore Series will follow from Aug. 10 through Sept. 10 with additional programs on Medicare, dementia, brain health, housing, scam prevention, retirement planning, fitness, employment and other topics.
