DEKALB — DeKalb Township held its first Wise and Well Senior Summit Thursday at Faranda’s Banquet Center, drawing a large crowd to learn about health, travel, and other resources for older adults. The event featured more than 80 presenters offering free sessions throughout the day, including an Illinois Tollway I-PASS Assist program. Attendees were able to come and go as they pleased, with free parking, complimentary beverages, and meals available at the on-site Lincoln Inn Restaurant.
Kimberly Barrios, Community Relations & Events Coordinator with DeKalb Township, said the turnout was great.
“We had really high praise from a session this morning on navigating arthritis, so that one is top of mind for me. And then we had a session on travel that was really well attended.” she said.
