DeKalb Schools Receive $55,000 Grant for STEAM Curriculum

DEKALB — DeKalb Community Unit School District 428 will expand its specialized science and technology curriculum following the approval of a $55,000 grant from Meta. The funding allows the district to provide Project Lead The Way programming to students in third through fifth grades at all nine elementary schools. District leaders plan to use these resources to move the curriculum into the sixth grade next year with a goal of reaching all eighth grade students by 2028. This partnership helps the district provide hands-on learning in engineering and arts to more than 6,500 students. The investment supports a long-term effort to improve student growth and technical skills across the entire school system.
