DeKalb Hires Matt Anderson as New Water Resources Director

DEKALB – Matt Anderson has assumed the full-time role of Water Resources Director for the City of DeKalb, filling the position left vacant after Bryan Faivre retired on January 1, 2025. Anderson, a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Environmental Science, previously worked for DeKalb’s Water Division and served as Director of Public Works in Sycamore. He holds a Class A Public Water Supply Operator certification and a Master’s in Leadership and Accounting from Aurora University. Anderson will oversee the city’s water operations and capital programs, including the construction of a new shallow well, a transmission watermain loop, and the repair of Well 11 on County Farm Road.
