DeKalb County Tourism Reports Record Growth

SYCAMORE — Tourism in DeKalb County generated a record $124 million in visitor spending and $3 million in local tax revenue in 2024, according to data from the Illinois Office of Tourism. The industry supported 711 local jobs while contributing to statewide growth, with Illinois welcoming 113 million visitors who spent $48.5 billion. State hotel tax revenue reached $367 million in fiscal year 2025, a 14 percent increase from the previous year.
