WATERMAN — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a leaving the scene of a property damage accident after deputies responded at 2:32 a.m. Friday to a 911 hang-up in the area of U.S. Highway 30 west of Kane Road, according to a press release. Upon arrival, deputies found a railroad crossing gate broken off and blocking the eastbound lane, along with parts of a silver and gray Tesla at the scene, while no vehicles were located in the area. Union Pacific was notified and responded to repair the crossing gate. The incident remains under investigation.
