BYRON – The Byron Fire Department will host the “Battle of the Badges” blood drive on Thursday, April 9, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Following last year’s narrow four-vote victory by the fire department, this year’s competition between fire and police is expected to be another close one.
The event, held in partnership with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, takes place at the fire station located at 123 North Franklin Street.
“The Battle of the Badges is a fun way to support a serious need, and we encourage donors to bring a photo ID. Whether you are rooting for the fire or police department, your contribution is a vital link in the healthcare chain for our area hospitals,” said Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter for the Rock River Valley Blood Center.
The blood center serves as a vital link in the local healthcare chain by collecting and distributing life-saving products to area hospitals. Donors can schedule an appointment in advance by visiting rrvbc.org.
