DeKalb County Crash Leaves Two Injured

KIRKLAND – Two people were injured in a two vehicle crash in DeKalb County on Thursday evening.  The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reports they were called around 7:30 pm to Cherry Valley Road and Pearl Street north of Kirkland. Deputies said a northbound SUV driven by a Carpentersville man reportedly stopped at a stop sign at the intersection and then proceeded through. A westbound SUV driven by a Roscoe woman allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign after the driver was blinded by the sun and struck the rear passenger side of the other SUV. The Roscoe driver and a minor passenger in her SUV were transported to OSF by Kirkland Fire Department, while the Carpentersville driver refused medical treatment at the scene. The Roscoe woman was cited for disobeying a stop sign.
