DeKalb County Community Foundation Awards $140,000 in First Build the Future Grants

SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County Community Foundation has awarded $140,000 in its first round of Build the Future Grants to support capital projects across the county. Rooted for Good received $80,000 for a community health, education, and food center capital campaign, Oaken Acres Wildlife Center was awarded $30,000 for construction of a new raccoon rehabilitation center, and the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District received $30,000 for surface construction on the Genoa to Kingston Trail. The annual program provides multi-year funding for eligible organizations in DeKalb County to expand or build new facilities.
