DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council Monday reviewed a proposed 10-year revenue-sharing agreement with the developer of the upcoming TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn hotels on Peace Road. The $23.2 million, 120-room Marriott-branded project would rebate up to $2 million in hotel-motel tax revenue over the decade, starting at 90% in the first year and decreasing to 50% by year five. The agreement was requested to help cover rising construction costs, which have increased about $4 million since the project was approved in August 2024. The Council could finalize the agreement at a future meeting.
