DeKalb Council Approves Lodging House Rules and Transitional Youth Shelter

DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council Monday approved text amendments to the city’s Unified Development Ordinance allowing lodging houses as a special use in multifamily residential districts and a special use permit for the Family Service Agency to operate the Roots to Rise Transitional Youth Shelter at 220 College Avenue. The shelter will provide temporary housing and support for up to 16 youth ages 14 to 18.
