DeKalb Council Approves Grant for Blackhawk Road Grocery

DEKALB  — The DeKalb City Council has approved a $25,000 grant to support renovations at 1215 Blackhawk Road, the former Fanatico’s site. Property owner Nidal Musleh is converting the building into a grocery store with offices upstairs. Remodeling costs have topped $100,000, with more than half spent on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC upgrades that qualify under the city’s Architectural Improvement Program.
