DeKalb City Council to Review Downtown Bank Construction Plans

DEKALB – The DeKalb City Council will review a request tonight for a special use permit to build a Heartland Bank and Trust branch with drive-through lanes at the vacant lot on the southwest corner of South Fourth and Grove streets. The 2,100-square-foot, single-story building would include two banking drive-through lanes and one ATM lane, with customer exit traffic routed through an existing alley to Grove Street. The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval of the project, which will be discussed at the council meeting at 6 p.m. at the DeKalb Public Library.
