DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council approved five farm lease agreements last week for 318 acres of land at the Taylor Municipal Airport for up to three years. The leases cover 19 larger parcels and several smaller parcels near the airport, with Halverson Farms awarded the primary lease at $287.50 per acre for a total of $91,425 annually. Smaller parcels were leased to other local farmers and organizations at the same rate. The leases were determined through a competitive bid process and will replace previous agreements set to expire in February 2026.
