DEKALB – The DeKalb City Council approved an amendment to the professional services agreement with Stantec Architecture, Inc. for construction administration of the Transit Maintenance and Operations Facility. The amendment sets a not-to-exceed cost of $550,000, funded from the remaining balance of the original $2.99 million. The project has undergone five design revisions, including reducing the building to 22,263 square feet. Pending IDOT approval, building bids are expected in early 2027, with construction starting later that year. Funding for the project will come entirely from IDOT and Federal Transit Administration grants, with no impact on the DeKalb’s General Fund.
