Cut the Square Draws Crowd to Downtown Rochelle Today

ROCHELLE –  Cut the Square is happening tonight from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Rochelle with classic cars, food trucks, music, and community activities hosted by the Flagg Township Museum and the Hub City Motor Club. The event includes a DJ, museum tours, themed displays, and photo opportunities with a cardboard cutout of Rochelle native Joan Allen. Director Jan Devore said, “It’s the high school thing to do, get in your car and cut the square and there’s 2 different opinions about where the squares actually were cut, but basically 6th, 7th Street up to 38 back down what is now Lincoln Highway and then Lincoln Avenue behind the museum.” The free event brings residents together for a local tradition.
