Carson Kelly singled-home the game-winning run in the 10th inning to secure a 7-6 victory for Chicago. The catcher tied the game with a two-run homer in the eighth as the Cubbies have won three-of-four.
John Brebbia got the loss for Atlanta, which has dropped four-of-five.
Game 2 in the series is Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
