Cubs Lose To The Pirates On A Home Run In The 9th Inning

A solo home run by Jack Suwinski in the 9th inning on Friday afternoon gave the Pittsburgh Pirates a 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

The Pirates ended a 5-game losing streak and gave the Cubs their 4th loss in the past 5 games.

Andrew McCutchen and Isaiah Kiner-Falefa had RBI doubles for Pittsburgh.

Dennis Santana got the final 4 outs for the win.

Daniel Palencia took loss for Chicago.

Pete Crow-Armstrong had 3 hits which included a double and an RBI.

The Cubs are now 9 games back in the NL Central Division behind Milwaukee.

The Brewers were down 7 runs before making a come back and beat the Reds 10-8.

Milwaukee has now tied a club record of 13 straight wins. They have won 28 out of their last 32 games.

The Cubs and Pirates play game 2 in their series Saturday afternoon in Chicago.
