CRESTON — The Creston Village Board reviewed ongoing development activity in the subdivision during its May 5th meeting, noting several new homes are planned. Officials said code enforcement is addressing concerns about silt runoff entering storm drains, and developers have begun installing silt fencing and protective measures to help reduce erosion. Survey work for the 2026 sidewalk replacement program is underway, followed by final design plans. The board also reviewed a 2007 subdivision ordinance to clarify developer responsibilities for sidewalks, parks and trees. Last month, trustees approved plans for sidewalk replacement projects estimated at $156,500, including work on East South Street from South Grove Street to Woodlawn Road and East Depot Street from South Prairie Street to Woodlawn Road, along with sidewalk repairs near Creston Elementary School. Officials also identified a need for new street signs on Wade Street to meet legal standards. The village reported that all 19 nonworking streetlights in the subdivision have been replaced.
