Creston Board Approves Main Street Closure For Library Fun Run

CRESTON — The Creston Village Board voted unanimously to close a portion of Main Street on Friday, July 17, for the Big Circle Fun Run, which will mark the end of the Creston-Dement Public Library summer reading program. The event is scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and will include a foam party, pizza and chalk dust Color Run. Main Street will be closed from the railroad tracks to Cedarholm Street. The library’s summer reading program will run from June 15th to July 17th. Trustees also discussed the possibility of additional festivities that evening, including local vendors serving food on Main Street and a band in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Village officials said local businesses have expressed interest in supporting the event.
