Corn and Soybeans Growing Steadily in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois corn and soybeans are growing well, with 95% of corn and 90% of soybeans emerged. About 1% of corn has started to silk, and 2% of soybeans are beginning to bloom. Most of the crops are in good or excellent shape, with 74% of corn and 61% of soybeans rated in those top categories. Soil moisture is mostly adequate, and farmers had about 4.9 days to work in the fields last week.
